Maps, tourism and conflicts

Conflicts between countries, ethnic groups or political opponents are sometimes also fought in the field of cartography. This was the case of the Israel government who recently published its official tourist map in which the Palestinian territories are almost ignored and the city of Jerusalem was incorporated to Israel against international law, according to the Spanish political party Izquierda Unida, who denounced the case (see Izquierda Unida denuncia las falsedades de Israel en FITUR, Cuarto Poder, 6-2-2015). The controversial maps are copyrighted, to see them visit GoIsrael.com.
